Honestly if you think about it, Eugene could’ve waited for Rapunzel to heal him and then cut her hair. But what’s so amazingly beautiful about it is that he didn’t want to even risk Rapunzel’s safety in the slightest way. Because for all he knew as soon as he was healed she could’ve disappeared from his sight. And the thought of a world without her was so unbearable that he was willing to give up his life for her. Yeah. Rapunzel was willing to give up her life as she knew it to save him, but she was basically saying, “As long as I know he’s alive I’ll find a way to somehow stay alive.” But Eugene. Eugene. He couldn’t. He couldn’t imagine a life without Rapunzel. He was willing to give up his life to free Rapunzel so that at least she could live a life. Because to Eugene, Rapunzel was all he had. I cannot say this enough. Eugene couldn’t even imagine a life without Rapunzel. It was unbearable, to the point of where he was willing to die rather than to live without her. That’s what’s so beautiful about Eugene’s love for Rapunzel. It’s an amazing, beautiful, wonderful, love.
